K3LVN
K3LVN is a sci-fi action platformer where the player is a creature who’s been experimented on and is trying to escape the space station lab where they’re being kept. K3LVN is able to change their state of matter to alter their behavior. The three states usable are the Gel state, which is the default bipedal state, the Liquid state which makes K3LVN smaller and grants the ability to climb on certain walls, and the Solid State, which turns K3LVN into a ball to roll around and gain momentum. They must use these abilities in combination with each other to traverse the environment as quickly as possible.
Role: Design Lead / Level Designer
As a Design Lead at RNG Forge, I took on the role of incorporating ideas from multiple individuals which required me to make compromises in both the design elements and maintain the scope, all while abiding by the project timeline.
Game Mechanics
K3LVN is an action platformer where the player has 3 distinct states they can transform into to navigate their environment. The Gel State where they can double jump and stick to walls to gain height quickly. The Liquid State where they can enter small gaps and climb on walls that permit it. The Solid State where they can roll into a ball and gain speed to clear large gaps.
Initial Hangar Blockmesh
This is the initial blockmesh of the hangar. Though it changed later in production, the original intent for this space was to be the main level for use of the Solid State of K3LVN. The Solid State was a state that allowed the player to roll around as a ball and gain momentum.
Platforming Sections

The final step to get the level ready for playtesting was lighting. taking the now set dressed level and lighting it up to guide the player and make the space look as good as possible.
Pipe Roller-coaster designed to test the players proficiency with in the physics based ball form.
Small platforming section built to build on skills taught earlier in the game, and to build skills that will be used later in the game.
